Robert Downey Jr. and Russo Brothers Return for New Avengers Films

After a challenging year, Marvel is banking on past successes by reuniting with Robert Downey Jr. and the Russo brothers. Marvel is investing $80 million for Anthony and Joe Russo to direct “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” with additional incentives for hitting box office milestones. Downey, who will play Doctor Doom, has a lucrative deal including perks like private jet travel and dedicated security. The films will be shot in London from Q2 2025. Marvel’s recent struggles include underwhelming box office performances and a major storyline change due to legal issues with actor Jonathan Majors.
