A Norwegian retailer has listed Monolith Soft as the developer of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2. The entry is not an official studio announcement, however, and Nintendo has not publicly identified the team making the remake.

The Elkjøp product page names Monolith Soft in its developer field. It separately lists Nordic Nintendo distributor Bergsala as publisher, Nintendo Switch 2 as the platform and 2026 as the release year.

That makes the listing notable, but not definitive. Retail product pages can contain placeholder or incorrectly sourced information, and the page does not explain where its developer credit came from. The listing itself provides no supporting evidence that Monolith Soft is leading the project.

Nintendo’s official announcement confirms that the Nintendo 64 classic is being remade exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 and is scheduled for 2026. The company’s page does not name a developer or provide a more specific launch date.

Monolith Soft is best known for the Xenoblade Chronicles series and has also contributed to Nintendo’s modern Zelda games, including Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. That history makes the retailer’s attribution plausible, but it is not proof. Grezzo, meanwhile, developed the 2011 Nintendo 3DS remake Ocarina of Time 3D, giving Nintendo more than one studio relationship relevant to the project.

The remake itself is confirmed; Monolith Soft’s role is not. Until Nintendo or the studio provides a credit, Elkjøp’s listing should be treated as an unverified retailer claim rather than confirmation of who is developing the game.
