Sony’s latest PlayStation 5 system software update, version 26.06-14.10.00, is focused on security, performance and stability rather than new user-facing features.
The official PlayStation patch notes list two changes: security fixes for the PS5 system software and improvements to system software performance and stability. Sony has not detailed the individual security issues addressed by the update.
PS5 owners can check for the update by opening Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings. If a newer version is available, the console displays an Update Available notice and offers the option to install it.
This is a maintenance release, unlike larger updates that add visible console features. For comparison, a previous PS5 system update introduced Welcome Hub, Party Share and personalized 3D audio.
Have you noticed any performance or stability changes after installing PS5 update 26.06-14.10.00?
