Worldwide PlayStation 5 shipments have reached 97.9 million units as of September 30, 2026, leaving Sony’s console 2.1 million units short of the 100 million milestone.
According to Sony Group’s FY2026 second-quarter supplemental information, 2.6 million PS5 systems shipped during the July–September quarter. That was down 35% from the revised 4.0 million units shipped in the same quarter a year earlier.
Sony also reported 1.6 million PS5 shipments in FY2026 Q1. The company identifies its hardware figures as sell-in, meaning units shipped into its sales channels rather than consoles sold directly to consumers.
Elsewhere in the quarter, PlayStation recorded 127 million monthly active users. PS4 and PS5 full-game software volume reached 88.2 million units, including 8.2 million first-party units, while digital downloads accounted for 78% of full-game software sales.
Do you think PS5 will pass 100 million worldwide shipments before the end of 2026?
