Sony has announced another significant price increase for the PlayStation 5 in Japan, effective September 2. The standard PS5 model will now cost ¥79,980 ($550), a ¥13,000 ($90) increase from its current price. The Digital Edition will also see a ¥13,000 hike, rising to ¥72,980 ($505). Accessories, including DualSense controllers and the PlayStation Portal, are also becoming more expensive. This is not the first price hike for the PS5 in Japan, as Sony cites challenging global economic conditions as the reason. Will this price increase affect PS5 sales in Japan?
