Nvidia says the GeForce RTX 5090 has not been discontinued, even as the flagship graphics card remains difficult to find and has disappeared from the company’s US online marketplace.
GeForce senior vice president Jeff Fisher addressed the card’s status during an interview in Taipei reported by Taiwanese outlet 4Gamers, according to PC Gamer. Fisher said production had not stopped and that Nvidia continued to ship the product, while acknowledging that supply remained constrained.
That reassurance does not amount to a restock schedule. Nvidia has not provided a date for broader availability or specific shipment targets, and the RTX 5090 was not meaningfully available through its US marketplace at the time of the report.
There is also some ambiguity in what ongoing production means for shoppers. Nvidia supplies the GB202 graphics processor used by the RTX 5090, while finished cards are manufactured and sold through both Nvidia and board partners. Fisher’s comments confirm that the product line is still active, but they do not clarify how many Founders Edition or partner cards are reaching stores.
The RTX 5090 remains the top consumer card in Nvidia’s Blackwell-based GeForce RTX 50 Series. Its status has attracted attention because scarcity can make a product look effectively retired even when the manufacturer says it is still shipping.
Have you been able to find an RTX 5090 at a reasonable price, or are supply problems keeping it out of reach?
