Nintendo Switch 2 reached 26.35 million hardware sales worldwide as of September 30, 2026, while Nintendo says it is not currently considering another price increase for the console.
The company’s latest financial results show that Nintendo Switch 2 added 2.67 million hardware units during the three months ended September 30. Lifetime software sales reached 73.21 million units, including 15.04 million sold during the quarter.
The original Nintendo Switch has now reached 157.20 million lifetime hardware sales and approximately 1.594 billion software sales. It sold another 610,000 consoles and 31.92 million software units during the same three-month period.
Nintendo Switch 2’s biggest first-party sellers
- Mario Kart World — 16.48 million
- Donkey Kong Bananza — 5.05 million
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition — 4.04 million
- Pokémon Pokopia — 4.04 million
- Splatoon Raiders — 2.42 million
The sales milestone provides the backdrop for Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa’s latest pricing comments. During the company’s earnings call, Furukawa said Nintendo is “not considering additional changes” to the Nintendo Switch 2 price at present.
Nintendo already raised the console’s US starting price by $50 earlier in 2026, bringing it to $499. Furukawa’s statement addresses the current situation rather than permanently ruling out every future adjustment.
Furukawa also said there has been no major change in Nintendo’s memory-supply position and that the company currently expects to secure sufficient quantities. Memory markets remain under pressure across the wider electronics industry, in part because of strong demand from AI and data-center operators.
Does Nintendo Switch 2’s sales momentum make its current $499 price easier to justify?
