World of Warcraft workers have voted to unionize, marking another significant labor milestone at Microsoft. Around 500 employees, including artists, designers, engineers, producers, and QA testers, joined the Communications Workers of America (CWA). This move expands the number of unionized gaming employees at Microsoft to approximately 1,750. Microsoft has maintained a neutral stance on unionization, agreeing to recognize and negotiate with the union. This development follows a similar union victory at Bethesda Game Studios and comes after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, which had faced legal issues regarding workplace misconduct.
