Sony has launched Live TV on PS5 in the United States, giving console owners access to more than 100 free, ad-supported channels and a growing catalog of on-demand programming.
According to the official PlayStation Blog announcement, the Sony Pictures Television service is available from the PS5 home screen. Users can open the Media tab, select the Live TV on PS5 icon and sign in with their PlayStation account to begin watching.
The launch lineup covers movies, television, anime, sports, news, weather and creator-led programming. Featured providers and brands include Crunchyroll, FOX, NBCUniversal, NFL Channel, UFC, Lionsgate’s MovieSphere and Sony One. Specific programming ranges from Naruto, Sailor Moon and Death Note to The Walking Dead, Community and live sports coverage.
PlayStation says channel availability can vary by local television market and may change over time. The company plans to refresh the lineup with new channels and additional content, and it is considering an expansion into Canada and other regions. No timetable for availability outside the United States has been announced.
