Larian CEO Swen Vincke revealed that if Baldur’s Gate wasn’t an option, he was interested in working on either Fallout or Ultima. Vincke believed that a big-name title was necessary to break through a “glass ceiling” and elevate Larian to the next level. Baldur’s Gate 3’s success turned Larian into an RPG powerhouse. Despite initial struggles, Larian secured the Baldur’s Gate license and delivered a massive hit. The studio is now focusing on two ambitious RPGs, moving away from D&D-based projects.
