Henry Cavill is set to star in Amazon MGM’s live-action adaptation of the classic mecha anime Voltron. Directed by Red Notice filmmaker Rawson Marshall Thurber, the film will be shot in Australia this fall. Cavill will lead alongside Daniel Quinn-Toye, a West End newcomer who impressed the production team. Voltron, originally based on Japanese anime series Beast King GoLion, tells the story of five pilots who unite their robotic lions to form a giant robot warrior. The script is co-written by Thurber and Ellen Shanman. Cavill’s recent projects include Argyle and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
