Bit Reactor has begun bringing furloughed developers back to work following the release of Star Wars: Zero Company. The studio says the returning team members will support the game, but it has not announced that every affected employee has returned.

In an official statement, Bit Reactor said it had “started the process of returning more of our team back to work” this week. It described the earlier furloughs as a necessary response to unexpected business developments outside the studio’s control.

The company said its goal had been to create a path that could eventually bring back as many people as possible. It also thanked players for what it called an incredible response to Zero Company and said the returning staff would contribute to continued support.

Game File reporter Stephen Totilo reported that more than half of the studio is now back on payroll, while the remaining employees are still furloughed. That figure comes from Game File’s reporting rather than Bit Reactor’s public statement, which did not provide a headcount.

VGC reports that Star Wars: Zero Company launched on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The single-player turn-based tactics game was developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games and published by Electronic Arts.

Bit Reactor said more updates are coming but did not specify its post-launch content plans, how long the remaining furloughs may last or whether additional staff will return. For now, the confirmed development is that the recall process has begun and ongoing support for the game will continue.

What updates would you most like the returning Zero Company team to prioritize?
