House House says it will not release Big Walk on Xbox while Microsoft or Xbox remains a priority boycott target of the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.
The developer explained the decision in an official statement titled “Regarding Xbox” on October 15. House House said it chose not to bring the cooperative adventure to Microsoft’s console in accordance with the BDS movement’s call to boycott Microsoft and its designation of Microsoft Games and Xbox as priority targets.
The policy is open-ended rather than an unconditional permanent ban. House House said it would like Xbox players to be able to join the game, but added that a release will not happen “until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets.”
House House ties the decision to BDS guidance
House House directed readers to the BDS movement’s explanation of its Microsoft campaign. BDS says it is targeting Microsoft over the company’s provision of Azure cloud and artificial intelligence services to the Israeli military. That characterization and the boycott designation come from BDS, and House House cited them as the basis for its platform decision.
The studio acknowledged that excluding Xbox conflicts with its goal of making Big Walk a game for groups of friends. It said some players will miss the chance to play with their groups and that the team understands the disappointment caused by the choice.
Where Big Walk is available
House House’s official Big Walk press kit lists Windows and Mac through Steam, the Mac App Store, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 as supported platforms. The game launched on August 4, 2026, and supports cross-platform play among its available versions.
The game’s official FAQ says no other platforms are planned at this time. House House’s separate Xbox statement gives the specific condition under which that position could change, but it does not announce an Xbox version or release window.
Would you like to see Big Walk come to Xbox if House House’s stated condition is eventually met?
