During Comic-Con in San Diego, a human trafficking sting led to 14 arrests and the recovery of 10 victims. The operation, conducted from July 25-27, was led by the California Department of Justice’s San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force. The sting targeted sex traffickers exploiting the large-scale event. Law enforcement officials worked undercover and posted ads to identify and arrest offenders. Among the recovered victims were nine adults and a 16-year-old. Various law enforcement agencies cooperated in the operation to combat this insidious crime.
