Are you playing Call of Duty? If yes, this news is for you!
A Treyarch developer, Matt Scronce, recently addressed on social media the changes in movement mechanics since 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. He explained why the movement in Black Ops 6 feels slower, noting that after MW19, the focus shifted from fast-paced movement to a more balanced approach, arguing that faster speeds can create issues like “snaking,” where players exploit rapid prone and crouch movements to gain an unfair advantage. Scronce highlighted that faster movement in MW19 led to frustrating gameplay dynamics, particularly with jump shots and slide-cancelling, which became central to the meta. In Black Ops 6, Treyarch intentionally designed the game to reduce the effectiveness of spamming jump shots by adjusting how characters move while jumping. He clarified that players can still enhance jumping effectiveness through specific perks and attachments, but it shouldn’t be the dominant tactic in combat. Scronce concluded by reassuring fans that Treyarch is actively considering community feedback and making adjustments as needed.
