It seems that Mortal Kombat 1‘s content updates may be coming to an end after Kombat Pack 2 concludes. A highly trusted leak suggests that NetherRealm Studios has cancelled plans for a Kombat Pack 3 and a second story expansion, following disappointing sales of the Khaos Reigns expansion.

Despite this, there are still some exciting additions for fans, including characters from Kombat Pack 2 like Conan the Barbarian and the T-1000 from Terminator 2. There’s also the possibility that a few additional “kameos” may be added, though this remains uncertain.

While NetherRealm has not officially confirmed these changes, the studio’s focus is reportedly shifting toward its next game. Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav reaffirmed the company’s commitment to core franchises, with Mortal Kombat listed as a priority. Series creator Ed Boon also mentioned that the next Mortal Kombat title has been in development since before the release of Mortal Kombat 1.

The Mortal Kombat 1 is priced at $49.99 for the base edition and $89.99 for the Mortal Kombat 1 Khaos Reigns Kollection.
