The remastered GTA Trilogy has received a significant update, three years after its initial release. Rockstar Games has addressed several fan complaints, particularly regarding the lighting, by introducing a “Classic Lighting mode” that mimics the original game’s sky and environment. This feature, which was available on mobile last year, has now been added to the console and PC versions.
The update also brings various improvements, such as the return of heat haze and ambient clouds, fixes to character animations and water/swimming mechanics (first spotted by X user @MarioButoto99), and the restoration of certain weapon actions, like shooting while running in GTA III and Vice City (first discovered by X user @BeskInfinity). Additionally, streetlights have been changed to their original orange hue, and aiming and running animations have been improved. Finally, Rockstar has removed all references to Grove Street Games, the developer behind the remaster. This update is now available across all major platforms, including Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
