A comprehensive leak has revealed the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro specifications, offering a glimpse of its impressive capabilities. Shared by an insider on X (formerly Twitter), the details suggest significant enhancements over the original PS5.

The PS5 Pro features an AMD Ryzen Zen 2 processor with 8 cores and 16 threads, paired with a powerful RDNA GPU delivering 16.7 TFLOPS of performance. For context, this places the PS5 Pro’s graphical power just shy of the cheapest current NVIDIA card, the RTX 4060, which boasts 22 TFLOPS. The console also includes 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM dedicated to graphics, along with an additional 2 GB of DDR5 for system operations, and comes equipped with a generous 2TB SSD for ample storage.

In terms of power, the PS5 Pro operates with a 390W supply, an increase from the PS5’s 350W. It enhances connectivity with support for WiFi 7 and replaces one USB-A port with a USB-C port.

Sony has indicated that the PS5 Pro will render graphics 45% faster than its predecessor, offering 2 to 3 times the ray-tracing capabilities. Additionally, the introduction of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) aims to improve resolution and visual quality in compatible games.

Set to launch globally on November 7, 2024, the PlayStation 5 Pro is shaping up to be a substantial upgrade for gamers seeking advanced performance and features.
