Brian Horton, the former creative director for Marvel’s Wolverine at Insomniac Games, has joined Xbox to lead the creative direction for the Perfect Dark reboot being developed by The Initiative. His departure from Insomniac occurred over the summer amid a series of changes within the studio. Along with Horton’s exit, Cameron Christian has transitioned to a different role at Insomniac, while Mike Daly and Marcus Smith, both key contributors to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, will now direct Wolverine.
The Wolverine game is being developed in collaboration between Marvel and Sony’s PlayStation, with plans for it to be a PS5 exclusive. So far, a 54-second trailer has been released for the game, providing a glimpse of what fans can expect. Despite past challenges in Perfect Dark’s development, new updates were presented during Xbox’s Summer Showcase. The last significant news about Wolverine came from a major leak in 2023, and while the game was announced in 2021, further details are expected soon. Currently, there are no official release dates for either title, but rumors suggest Wolverine may launch as early as 2025.
