There is good news for the fans of the Rayman franchise. According to recent reports, Ubisoft disbanded the team behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, with reports indicating that a sequel pitch was rejected shortly after the game’s release. Following this decision, several former team members have transitioned to new projects, including a Rayman remake, code-named “Project Steambot,” which is being developed at Ubisoft Milan.

Notably, Michel Ancel, the original creator of Rayman, is serving as a consultant on the remake project, though his past controversies have raised concerns among the team. About a dozen developers have joined the Rayman team, while others are now working on Beyond Good & Evil 2 and the next Ghost Recon title. Overall, the atmosphere at Ubisoft appears to be mixed as teams adjust to these changes.

The franchise enjoys very positive user ratings, reflecting its popularity among fans. One of the latest games in the Rayman series, Rayman Legends, was launched on August 29, 2023. It is currently priced at $29.99 for PC on Steam, $19.99 for PS4 on the PlayStation Store, and $39.99 for the Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Store.
