Star Wars Outlaws faced significant challenges at launch, resulting in disappointing sales estimated at just one million copies in its first month, according to Insider Gaming. This figure fell well short of Ubisoft‘s expectations, prompting the company to acknowledge the game’s performance as “softer than expected” and leading to the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows from November 2024 to February 2025.

Despite initial excitement generated by trailers showcasing an expansive open-world environment and a new character, anticipation waned as gameplay videos revealed notable shortcomings. The game’s early buzz quickly faded on social media and streaming platforms, with players sharing clips that highlighted technical issues, such as buggy stealth sequences. Although Ubisoft attempted to address these problems with patches shortly after launch, the damage was already done, leaving little hope for improved sales moving forward. Overall, Star Wars Outlaws has struggled to maintain interest in the gaming community.

The disappointing performance of Star Wars Outlaws adds to a troubling trend for Ubisoft, which has seen other titles, like Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Watch Dogs: Legion, also fall short of sales expectations in recent years.

The base game is priced at $69.99, while the deluxe edition is available for $89.99.
