Black Myth: Wukong, developed by Game Science, has made an impressive debut, selling 20 million units in its first month following its release on September 1, 2024. This announcement was made by Ken Kutaragi during the Tokyo Game Show, as reported by Dean Takahashi. The game achieved 10 million sales within just three days, indicating strong initial demand, and peaked at three million concurrent players across all platforms. Notably, around 2.4 million of these players were on PC, suggesting that approximately 80% of the player base preferred this platform.

Critically, Black Myth: Wukong has garnered generally favorable reviews, scoring 81/100 on PC and 75/100 on PlayStation 5, according to Metacritic. Analysts like Daniel Camilo have also hinted at future content, anticipating that downloadable content (DLC) could be released around the Chinese New Year.

The game’s significant sales and player engagement position it among the fastest-selling titles in gaming history. Players and reviewers alike are enthusiastic about its innovative gameplay and engaging story. Regarding pricing, the game is available for $59.99 for the standard edition and $69.99 for the digital deluxe edition on both Steam and Epic Games platforms.
