Ubisoft was to appear at the Tokyo Game Show, but this was canceled and the statement was shared through a post on X in Japanese.
The statement was released just two days before the event was supposed to be held, thus, this decision was questioned by fans. Some claimed that XDefiant having issues with its allegedly failing player count played a part in this, but we don’t know the reason behind this move for certain.
Then, a day later, Ubisoft announced the postponement of its upcoming Assassin’s Creed title, Shadows. The release date was pushed from November 2024 to February 14, 2025.
It is also announced that the preorders will be refunded and future preorders will include the first expansion of the game.
