Bungie and Sony are expected to price their upcoming game, Marathon, at $40. This is consistent with the pricing strategy observed for Sony’s recent releases, Helldivers 2 and Concord, which were also launched at $40.
The pricing prediction is supported by the sales trajectories of Helldivers 2 and Concord. Helldivers 2, released in May, achieved impressive sales with 12 million copies sold within 12 weeks, significantly surpassing expectations. In contrast, Concord, released by the same company just last month, was removed from sale after just two weeks, marking a notable disappointment.
Rumors suggest that Marathon will feature two playable maps. One map is said to be set aboard the Marathon spaceship, while the other will take place on an abandoned planet.
In addition, Marathon will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC, featuring full cross-play and cross-save across both platforms. Sony has yet to announce a release date for Marathon.
