Starfield to Offer Over A Thousand Planets for Players to Explore

Thanks to the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, we got to take a first look at Bethesda’s upcoming title Starfield. Regarding the game’s size, I think it’s safe to say that the expectations have been fulfilled, as director Todd Howard announces that there will be over 1000 planets available for players to explore.

When showing the space exploration system of the game, Howard mentioned that the player could choose to explore any part of the planet. He took the planet Jemison as an example and showed that the player was given various choices in deciding where they will land.

This kind of reminds me of No Man’s Sky, where the promised map size of the game was 31,7000,000,000,000,000,000 km2. It came true eventually, but at the time of release, there was little content for each of the planets, so that didn’t go well. There isn’t any indication that this will be the same case with Starfield, though, so this could actually work out very well.
