Sony Acquires Bungie with A $3.7 Billion Deal
Bungie, the name behind Destiny and Halo games until Halo: Reach, has been acquired and welcomed into the PlayStation family by Sony. The news was shared on Twitter by Sony.
Bungie also had some words to say about the news and shared them on Twitter, expressing their excitement about joining the PlayStation family.
Bungie also confirmed that it will be run as “an independent company subsidiary” of SIE and will stay as a multiplatform studio with the ability to “self-publish and reach players where they choose to play.”
Even after this purchase, Sony doesn’t seem to want to stop as they are seeking to acquire more studios in the future. Well, we’ll be waiting for their next moves.
