Phantom Galaxies is an upcoming open-world RPG game that has a similar feeling to Transformers. When you take the game as a whole, it really is one of those games that you should be looking out for.

The game is currently planned to enter early access in the second quarter of 2022. It’s promising for a “gripping narrative campaign of survival and dominance in a hostile galaxy,” Currently we don’t know which platforms the game will be released on. But as a guess, you could say PC and next-gen consoles after taking a look at the game’s latest trailer and gameplay teasers.

The game’s ultimate aim is to become a “fully fleshed PC/console game featuring blockchain systems and NFTs to enable real player-driven governance and game asset ownership.” Listen, this actually sounds great. Players being able to decide what to do on their items is just, something that should be available and it’s good to hear that it will in this game.

We still don’t know how this whole thing is going to work, though. So you might not want to jump in instantly after it becomes available. The popularity of Phantom Galaxies overall is going to affect this most.

Fortunately, though, Blowfish Studios co-founder Ben Lee enlightened us in an interview with GamesBeat. He explains:

“I know exactly what you’re saying about how current blockchain and crypto games have been,” he said, “I believe some started off as crypto indie developers, and these games came from blockchain projects and not game developers.”

“What I truly want is true triple-A in a blockchain game experience where I own the assets and get the best of both worlds,” he concludes.
