A fan of The Simpsons: Hit and Run has remade the game in Unreal Engine 5, which is great. On top of that though, Joe McGinn, the lead designer of the original game, seems pretty impressed with the project.
The fan we are talking about here is Reuben Ward, who has been doing Unreal Engine 5 remakes on his channel. You can see The Simpsons: Hit and Run remake of his in the video below:
Looks amazing, right? That’s not the only thing that is amazing though, you’ll understand me once you scroll down to comments and check pinned. Yeah, it is Joe McGinn himself, and he says “Amazing what you accomplished! Really gives a taste of what a full remaster could be. Impressive work!”
You can check the details of this remake in Reuben’s video, I suggest you watch it, as it’s a great job! No wonder Joe McGinn commented his thoughts on it, this is so good. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like we will be getting an official remake, although the 20th anniversary is coming up. Matt Selman explains this as “We would love to see a remastered version […]” although it would be “a complicated corporate octopus to try to make that happen.”
