CD Projekt has revealed that The Witcher: Monster Slayer is releasing this month. The game mechanics seem to have similarities with the popular Pokémon GO game from the same genre. The game will be an AR-type, which means you’ll enter the world of The Witcher through your phone.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer comes out on July 21st, 2021. You can check the game’s website for more info on the matter.
There will also be story elements in-game, but probably you won’t have to follow up with a story if you are in it for fighting monsters that are close to you. The gameplay trailer shows that you’ll get to meet other characters and monsters, which might lead you to help them out, who knows.
The game’s website promises that players will “experience story-driven quests that propel you through epic adventures inspired by the Witcher series, taking you deep into the heart of what it means to be an elite monster slayer.”
