According to A Report, The New PES Title will be Free-to-Play

Last year, PES 2021 was not released as a standalone game, but rather an expansion for PES 2020, a season update. Konami had explained that this was to focus on their next PES game.

As for PES 2022, according to VGC’s Andy Robinson, the game will be free-to-play. You may ask, what source does he have? Well, he didn’t reveal it so take it with a pinch of salt. Still, hearing this makes me happy. I mean, who wouldn’t be happy about this?

Right now, you can sign up for the open beta test of New Football Game from Konami, which will be available for PS4/PS5 and Xbox Series X-S/One. Konami is trying to “evaluate the quality of the online matchmaking and connection to the servers,” and promises that the gameplay is subject to change before the full release. For more details about PES 2022, we will be waiting for July 21st, where we’ll have an event.
