PlayStation is Working on 25 Different PS5 Games, Half of Them Being New Franchises

A report from Wired shows that PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst states that there are more than 25 PS5 titles that are being developed right now, half of them being completely new franchises.

This doesn’t mean all these games are first-party games though, as we’ve seen examples of third-party games being published under the banner of PlayStation Studios such as Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Returnal. So don’t get the wrong idea.

We know for sure that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is coming next month, Sony Santa Monica’s working on God of War: Ragnarok and Guerilla are developing Horizon Forbidden Rest. Also, Polyphony Digital got their hands on Gran Turismo 7, which has been delayed to next year.

Except for the revealed titles, we don’t know what PlayStation studios are up to. Seems like we will just see this through in time, and 25 titles is a massive amount. Not to mention that half of them will be brand new IPs.
