Ubisoft is Pulling The Plug of Rainbow Six Vegas Servers Along With 9 Other Games

Ubisoft has decided to pull the plug on some of their old games’ servers. This includes various Clancyverse games.

Rainbow Six Vegas, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Rainbow Six Lockdown will have their servers plugged off, which means multiplayer for these games won’t be available. Though single-player mods will be completely playable.

There is a catch, though, due to the servers shutting down any in-game awards for these specific games that have been claimed won’t be available anymore. This doesn’t depend on whether if you have claimed them already or not, they’re gone once servers are gone.

We don’t have a specific date for the end of life for these games’ servers yet, but they will go down this year eventually. Tom Clancy games aren’t the only games with their servers shutting down, you can see the games with servers that will go down on June 1st below:

  • Assasin’s Creed 2
  • Far Cry 2
  • Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands
  • Anno 1404
  • Might & Magic – Clash of Heroes
  • Might & Magic X – Legacy
  • Splinter Cell Conviction
  • The Settlers 7

Considering almost all of these games are over 10 years old now, it’s reasonable for Ubisoft to think that multiplayer mode for these games is inactive by now. Although it’s sad to see classic games’ servers shutting down, as they become pure history.
