PUBG Lite, a less power-consuming version of PUBG, is shutting down. The announcement was made by the game’s publisher on lite.pubg.com, saying that the game is no longer available to download and the servers will get shut down on April 29th.

“We are deeply grateful for the passion and support from the astounding number of PUBG LITE fans that have been with us. During the strenuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that PUBG LITE was able to provide our fans a fun way to stay safe.

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close service after much deliberation and the time has come for our journey to end. We regretfully inform you that service of PUBG LITE is scheduled to end on April 29th, 2021 (UTC).”

PUBG Lite was a great alternative for those who didn’t have enough system power to play PUBG. The game was first released in Thailand, later expanding its sphere towards other countries. PUBG and PUBG Lite players could not play on the same server but you know, it was there for players who did not have the chance to play PUBG.

Player support for PUBG Lite will no longer be available on May 29th, 2021.
