Gordon Hall, Rockstar Leeds Founder, Dies at 51

Games Industry reports that Gordon Hall, co-founder of Rockstar Leeds, is dead.

The studio was originally Möbius Entertainment and was acquired by Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive in 2004. The studio has been rebranded as Rockstar Leeds.

According to Games Industry, Hall moved to Rockstar San Diego in 2009 and lent his expertise to Red Dead Redemption. However, the manager took a break between 2011 and 2013 to investigate the psychology behind micro transformations, and then returned as a chief creative officer for Activision Blizzard Mobile.

“Gordon was incredibly motivating and always positive,” said Martyn Brown, co-founder of business development and Team17 at Five Aces Publishing. “His pursuit of excellence was surprising and he built a big, trusting bond with those who chose to work hard with him. As a close friend, he was truly inspiring and socially, energetic who can entertain anyone. Gordon will be greatly missed.”
