PlayStation Store’s Video Purchasing and Renting Feature Gets Removed Soon
The ability to rent or purchase TV shows and movies will be removed from the PlayStation Store on the 31st of August 2021. Don’t worry, the items you’ve purchased will stay in your library and you will be able to access them, it’s just that further transactions will no longer be available.
As explained in the PlayStation blog, people tend to use subscription-based services instead of purchasing movies individually nowadays. So, the feature that was in PlayStation Store for a while will be removed by the end of Summer 2021.
On the other hand, Microsoft still has the feature, but we don’t know for how long that will last.
