Valheim: 3 Million Copies in 16 Days

Valheim, a successful open-world survival sandbox video game on Steam, has sold three million copies since the beginning of the month, and it’s a tremendous feat for developer Iron Gate.

The team was stunned by the extreme praise given to the game by both critics and the community. Currently, there are over 60,000 “Overwhelmingly Positive” user reviews on Steam. Just a week after its launch, Grand Theft Auto V outperformed games such as Apex Legends and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and Valheim is comfortably ranked in the category of the best-reviewed 250 games of all time on the platform. “This level of success is an uncharted territory,” said Albert Säfström, CEO of Coffee Stain Publishing. “Fortunately, our team includes Daniel Kaplan, who is part of Minecraft’s rise, and the really remarkable developers at Iron Gate. We’re excited to be together on this journey.

Let’s not forget that this game is in early access and there is even more for fans to look forward to.
