Donald Trump’s Twitch channel has been suspended after the deadly attack on the US Capitol this week. The account was previously used to broadcast rallies and other events through Twitch, and was previously banned for violating the platform’s rules on hateful behavior when Trump posted calling Mexican immigrants “rapists.”
The move follows a similar restriction by Facebook, which says Trump has suspended his account indefinitely.
The attacks on the US Capitol this week were unprecedented, which many commentators say were completely predictable. A deadly capstone after four years of racist whistling rhetoric, the attack was provoked by a special weapon call for Trump’s supporters, many of them white supremacists and alternative right-wing conspiracy theorists, to land in Washington DC on the day Congress approved.
