Microsoft Tried to Buy Nintendo 20 Years Ago

What if Microsoft bought Nintendo in the transition to the original Xbox? I guess the last 20 years of video games would look quite different. It seems Microsoft tried to make this happen.

At a date regarding the creation of the original Xbox released by Bloomberg, those involved in the console announced that they were trying to use Microsoft’s millions to secure Xbox exclusives and met Nintendo to see if they would actually consider buying it. However, this meeting did not go well, according to former third-party relations director Kevin Bachus.

Later, the head of business development, Bob McBreen, announced that Microsoft met with Nintendo in January 2000 to examine the details of a joint venture in which the Xbox will also develop hardware for Nintendo games to be played. That didn’t work either.
