Ryan Hernandez, 21, was arrested for stealing some information about Nintendo Switch console, including pre-release information. Hernandez was sentenced to three years in prison.

In 2016, Hernandez and a friend managed to obtain the credentials of a Nintendo employee and then access and download confidential Nintendo files related to consoles and games. The FBI noted that not only thousands of hidden Nintendo files but also more than a thousand videos and pictures of minors engaging in sexually explicit acts are stored in a directory that he labels ‘Bad Stuff’.

Both crimes, both federal offenses, were considered. Hernandez was found guilty in January, but his sentence was announced today. He will be sent to a facility for prisoners with cognitive difficulties and will also have to pay Nintendo $ 259,323 for the improvement costs caused by his behavior.
