PS5 Will Launch with Netflix, Apple TV+, Disney+, Twitch, Spotify, and YouTube

Sony announced that Netflix, Apple TV +, Disney +, Twitch, Spotify, and YouTube will be available on PS5 on the launch day on November 12, 2020. Announced on PlayStation.Blog, PS5 will also receive additional streaming apps like Amazon Prime Video, MyCanal, Hulu, Peacock, and more in the future. Some of these apps (such as streaming live on Twitch and streaming and sharing game moments from YouTube) will have an integrated experience with PS5.

Also, these apps will have a dedicated media entertainment area next to the game home screen, as shown in the PS5’s UI. There will be no need to download the entertainment apps from the PS Store, as they will all now be in the media space. This will allow you to quickly switch between game and media areas, and the PS5’s new Control Center will make your job even easier with the ability to switch channels, skip and pause everything you play.

The PS5’s Remote Control will be available with the console launch, allowing users to turn on the PS5, quickly navigate through media, adjust volume and power settings on compatible TVs.
