Most of the 4000 PS4 games will be playable on PS5, but Sony has warned of some issues

Sony has finally said more about PS5’s backward compatibility and provided a very short list of PS4 games that will not be supported. However, the PlayStation manufacturer also warned that some supported games may lack functionality and may exhibit errors or unexpected behavior.

In a blog post posted today on PlayStation’s support website, Sony warned you to try launching and playing your PS4 games on your PS5 console to see if you are satisfied with the game performance before purchasing any add-ons.

Some select PS4 games will take advantage of the PS5’s “Game Boost” feature, which allows PS4 games to run at a higher or smoother frame rate.

Just 10 PS4 games are definitely broken on PS5:

  • DWVR
  • Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume One
  • TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2
  • Just Deal With It!
  • Shadow Complex Remastered
  • Robinson: The Journey
  • We Sing
  • Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
  • Shadwen
  • Joe’s Diner

Also, PS4 tournaments, Live In-Game from PlayStation, and PS4 Second Screen app and game utilities will not be supported on PS5.
