Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. Activision and Treyarch confirmed the rumors that have been going on for months. Call of Duty’s new game will launch this year and is going to reboot the Black Ops brand, similarly to how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare rebooted the Modern Warfare brand.

The first teaser trailer of the game, and the first official look at the title, that is going to be the 17th overall installment in the series, and the first release since the free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone hit earlier this year is in the reveal.

As expected, the reveal is via Call of Duty: Warzone teasers but not Youtube premiere. And it comes after weeks of viral teasing by Treyarch and Infinity Ward. The influencers are sent with cryptic slides to real-life Cold Warzone projectors, in-game Warzone teasers, and countless Easter Eggs for players to solve.

Although Black Ops 4 failed to make the same leap forward, since Black Ops is the only Call of Duty sub-brand larger than Modern Warfare nowadays, it is not surprising to see Activision return to this state as previous Black Ops games did.

It is presumed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The game’s release date has not been announced yet but we will be able to learn it on the 26th of August via Warzone and most probably the game will come to the platforms mentioned above.
