Frostpunk’s latest developer update shows off Automatons

11 bit studios is on our agenda again with their upcoming steampunk survival game, Frostpunk. Maybe you can resist survival, but you can’t resist steampunk survival. Frostpunk dares you, Frostpunk double dares you fellow gamers!

Before anything else, you must know that 11 bit studios’ games are emotionally challenging. Frostpunk will push you to the limits and make you think on such matters that you carefully try to espace from while you are in your comfort zone.

Frostpunk is set in a frozen world and to soften the blow of this overwhelming cold, people invented steam-powered technology. Now we are talking! This theme reminded me of the movie Snowpiercer where climate-change experiment kills all life on the planet with extreme snow and some people were lucky enough to get in a never-stopping train named Snowpiercer. Frostpunk’s gameplay revolves around the last remaining city on Earth. We are the leader of its citizens and the infrastructure they live in.

The latest developer update of Frostpunk lets us take a look at Automatons which are giant robotic feats of human ingenuity. The studio is now at final stage of the game and Art Director Przemyslaw Marszal has something to say about the Automatons:

They’re an example of pragmatic and authentic steampunk technology, used to endure cold and ensure humanity’s chances of survival.
