One has the beauty, one has the spirit.

Well, let’s start with the beauty. The latest installment in the rebooted Star Wars: Battlefront series has a new trailer. It celebrates the coming of the open beta phase we’ll be swinging lasers and swords made from lasers at each other (oh f**k, don’t hit me, why are you hitting me, GODDAMN OKAY it is called a lightsaber okay stop hitting me).

Ahem. Anyway, here’s the trailer, a sight for sore eyes:

Beautiful, yeah? Well, get ready to get burned by lasers in the map Naboo: Theed in Galactic Assault; while witnessing the chaos wrought by our much beloved Darth Maul, and that rebel scum Rey. The open beta will be available between 9.00am BST on October 4 and 5.00pm BST on October 9 –IF you are kind of a person who still does pre-orders. If you’re not, congratulations, and your beta will start on 9.00am BST on October 6.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will be here to burn your eyes on 17th of November, for PC, PS4 and Xbox One… This was the “beauty” part of our news. Now for the real Battlefront fans, we have an update.

In the other news…

When it comes to spirit, SW: Battlefront 2 (2005) player base is surely one of a kind. They embraced their beloved game with a passion, especially after the failure (let’s accept, it was a failure except visuals) of the notorious reboot. We have a new  hope for the second one though, don’t get us wrong. :3

Anyway, Good Old Games (GOG), the saviour of our beautiful old games, who are thrown into the pits of abandonware one by one by the mad conqueror Windows the Xth and his ancestors… Ahem, a great platform who thinks about players like you and me, has made an announcement about the 2005 version of Star Wars: Battlefront:

“Powered by GOG Galaxy, the multiplayer function of the game has now been restored AND with added Crossplay support between GOG Galaxy and Steam to boot. This long-awaited feature finally brings the entire STAR WARS Battlefront II community together, no matter which part of the galaxy you come from, so go ahead and jump into the fray.”

YAY! That’s what we call the good news. Get the update, and crossplay the force out of that good old game.

Stay Saber!
