Brilliant action RPG Vampyr has been delayed

To be honest, it feels like I am waiting for Vampyr for ages now. Without any doubt, this was the most anticipated game of 2017 for me. It still is since I’ve waited for so long, yet it is now the most anticipated game of 2018 too.

Recently, Focus Home Entertainment has announced that the upcoming action role-playing game Vampyr has been delayed to Spring 2018. The reason behind the delay is a technical issue, according to Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DontNod.

Delaying the release of a project you hold dear is always a tough decision. However, we believe that meeting a deadline should never compromise quality. We were still convinced just a few weeks ago that we would be able to release Vampyr this year. Unfortunately, a technical issue – now solved – has set our teams’ schedule back at the end of the development.

This delay allows us enough time for all the polishing and balancing phase, much needed for a game of Vampyr’s scope, with its ambitious, semi-open world, its complex narrative and deep RPG mechanics that give players a real impact on the world.

This is sad. This makes me sad more than I could imagine. But still, we have to wait since Vampyr offers a great gameplay experience.

While playing the Vampyr, the game will take us to London when the streets were hit by Spanish flu. As Jonathan E. Reid, a vampire doctor, we rise when the city is filled with sick and diseased bodies and our enemies. Our true struggle is whether to kill people to feed or spare them.

Here is the E3 2017 trailer of Vampyr. Something to ease the pain.

Vampyr will hit PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018. Stay tuned for more!
