Don’t deny it, you are excited.
And don’t deny it, you’ve played all of it, sucked the marrow and were yearning for new content other than mods. Well, here it is!
Bethesda did its thing and released a High Resolution Texture Pack for its latest open-world game Fallout 4. It certainly will not change the cheesy dialogues or lack of roleplay elements but hey, it will be a sight to see –for free.
Here are some screenshots:
Here are the bad news: This texture pack wants an exact number of 58GB from your hard drive. The total space that Fallout 4 takes up nears 100GB with this content. Here are the other system requirements (minimum):
- OS: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-5820K or better
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: GTX 1080 8GB
- Storage: 58 GB available space
While there are no “recommended” requirements, a lot of users state that this is a well-optimized texture upgrade. The “minimum” GTX 1080 recommendation is probably an exaggeration, they say. A lot of people were capable of playing with GTX 980s and even GTX 760s.
And as for the “upgrade” itself; as long as you do not expect too much of a graphical overhaul, you’ll be fine. Remember the TES: Skyrim hi-res pack. Here it is, for the lazy:
