Cuba’s First Indie Game ‘Savior’ Looks Stunning

Savior, a charming 2D platformer is the first independent game to come from Cuba.

Empty Head Games is aiming high and working hard to make Savior happen. Even though Cuba has limited internet connection and the internet is only accessable via Wi-Fi hotspots; the Cuban Indie game developer team Empty Head is trying to create something so big and mesmerizing.

While Cuba is changing to better, Empty Head‘s childhood dreams came true. And while Savior is happening, Cuba and Indie game, for the first time, will be in the same sentence.

Survior is a 2D platformer with stunning visual artwork, where the characters discover they are living inside a video game. Survior is influenced by 16 bit games with hand-drawn animation, reflex-based gameplay and a strong mysterious story.

“Savior is 2D platformer full of crumbling ruins and bloody battles, civilizations on the brink of extinction, broken creatures and flawed heroes. For eons, this universe was kept in order by the Great God, but he has suddenly gone silent.

In his absence, the world begins to collapse, and as reality pulls apart, his followers wonder if they’re living in nothing more than a failing video game. You play as Little God, one of the few “saviors” able to communicate with the Great God, who may be able to restore order to his world.”

And this is the charming part, isn’t it? Living in a failing video game as a Little God. Right now, scientists are studying the universe if it is all a simulation. All this lives, all that matters and all that is right now, may be a part of an illusion and we just keep going with our daily lives and little problems. So what do you say if I ask you to put yourself in a little God’s shoes?

So go on, help Empty Head Games to make their and our dreams real. Let us help Cuba’s first Indie game become real. Help Savior, visit their funding page, make history.
