Nosgoth is Gone (For Good?)

After all these years, after the not-so-playable LoK: Defiance in which we’ve had the chance of controlling both Kain and Raziel; Nosgoth was not the exact game fans have been waiting for. A F2P deathmatch spin-off? That was a weird decision, so to say.

After receiving a  lot of negative reviews and losing its player base gradually, Nosgoth will be taken offline for the last time on 31st May 2016. Official statement from Square Enix is below:

“It is with a heavy heart and an immense sense of sadness that we must announce the end of Nosgoth’s development. Servers will continue to run until 31st May 2016, during which time you will be able to play the game as normal. After that date, Nosgoth will be taken offline for the last time.”

And the firm also stated that “any future Legacy of Kain project will be considered independently of Nosgoth and on the merits of the proposals alone,” which can be considered as a greenlight for more story-driven games about the Legacy of Kain saga.

By the way, did you know Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun? An unfortunate cancellation verdict, in my opinion; if you did not hear about it, you should check it out here (and fill yourself with sorrow). Please give this game a chance, o mighty Kain, I praise you.

Is Nosgoth gone for good? Or did you like playing it? Share your thoughts with us, and I would love a conversation about the Dead Sun.
