The Turing Test – Are You a Human or Not?

Do you know the purpose of a Turing Test? If you don’t, let me explain briefly: The test determines whether you are human or just an algorithm. Now, does it ring a bell (hint: captcha)? I always wondered what “captcha” meant, and was relieved when I found out. Let me share the relief: CAPTCHA is an acronym for “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart”. Specific, isn’t it? And a little terrifying to think that we have to prove that we are human, everyday.

This newly-announced game, The Turing Test is the next project of the developers of Pneuma: Breath of Life. We will be controlling an International Space Agency (ISA) engineer Ava Turing (the name makes one wonder), solving puzzles by the help of an “energy manipulation tool” (EMT) in FPS view; but the most exciting news for me is the place game is set in: Europa, one of the Jupiter’s moons. I love that icy little piece of moon, especially after watching 2013 movie Europa Report. Anyway, here is the announcement trailer:

…And here are some screenshots released on the official site, in which we can see the EMT in action:

The Turing Test will be out in August 2016 for PC and Xbox One. We cannot wait to question our humanity in another AI-themed sci-fi story (yes, I am looking at you, SOMA).
