PS5: Sony Apologized for Pre-Order Issues and Promised More PS5s Coming

After the PS5’s troubled pre-order process, Sony apologized and promised that more could be pre-ordered in the next few days and more will be available by the end of the year. PlayStation took to Twitter to share the message and said, “PS5 pre-orders could have been a lot smoother.”

“Let’s be honest: PS5 pre-orders could have been a lot smoother,” PS said. “We really apologize for that. We will release more PS5 consoles for pre-order over the next few days. And more PS5s will be available by the end of the year.”

According to Sony, pre-orders should begin the day after the PS5 Showcase, which announced the price and release date of the PlayStation 5 along with Final Fantasy 16, a sequel to 2018’s God of War, Hogwarts Legacy, and much more. However, retailers started pre-orders the same night and websites were crashing, and many people didn’t have pre-orders, although Sony previously said PS5 pre-orders would not be a surprise. Even those who guaranteed a PS5 pre-order weren’t 100% sure they would stick, and retailers like Amazon started sending emails saying they might not be able to deliver them to buyers on the November 12, 2020 release day.
